How safe is Tenerife?

You can walk with valuable jewellery or smartphone safely almost in every place of the island. There are some places such as el Fraile, San Isidro, Añaza or La cuesta (neighbourhood) that are a little less safe if you are not a local and you go there during the evening or night, but nothing serious in comparison to other "not that safe" places of Europe. In general you feel safe and welcomed. Locals are very kind.

Tenerife is very safe, rarely do things happen here. If you are responsible and careful, it is very likely that nothing will happen, it is a very safe island even in the early hours of the morning. I have been going out a lot alone, accompanied, in a group, with strangers, and nothing has ever happened to me.

Solo travel experience

It was my first solo trip, and I consider it the best decision to take that place as my first. First three days I rented a car and explored the island, it is just beautiful. Sunset, beaches, all clean, friendly people, good food, safe, roads nice, good hiking and peaceful. It was not that crowded too, except in Santa Cruz. After that I went to surf camp for 5 nights and that was amazing. Met amazing people, surfed for the first time and made a lot of beautiful memories. I would definitely recommend it!!

Solo travel experience

My first solo trip was to Tenerife and despite the sunstroke, it was really nice. All the locals were charming and extremely helpful.

Solo travel experience

Tenerife was my first place of solo travel and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others. In the south, it's warm with beautiful beaches, and in the north there is a lot of greenery where you can go hiking. I slept in a tent wherever I could, including on beaches, and nobody ever gave me problems because of it.

About Me

Hello! I am a very sociable and kind argentinian girl who works as an English and Spanish teacher and translator. I am arriving at Tenerife on December1st and I desperately need a place to stay, work and continue with my activities on the computer. I love reading, writing, and being around nature, especially the ocean. I don’t mind sharing room, I love animals and I’m keen on meeting new people. I would really appreciate this opportunity.
