Iceland is surreal!!!!!!! A dream came true, I fell in love with the country, the landscapes are breathtaking ! A bit expensive but worth the money, never felt more at peace than in Iceland. I would go back, definitively

The landscape was amazing- if you can accept the coldness it is worth travelling in winter, but needs good quality snow boots and a waterproof jacket, it was very stormy, and I will recommend travelling with someone and booking a hotel with a kitchen, the food was so expensive and if you are not a rich, it's impossible to manage to eat out for every single meal.

We visited The Secret Lagoon in Iceland and it was so worth it. There wasn’t many food options and the drinks were quite expensive, but the initial entry fee was cheaper than expected (however we did buy it included with a Golden Circle tour so it may have been cheaper than usual). The lagoon was so much hotter than I had been expecting and isn’t overrated at all, the water is so lovely and I wasn’t even cold when I left the water and walked into the snow - that’s how strong the heat rising from the water was! The Secret Lagoon isn’t really talked about as much as the Blue Lagoon, which meant this wasn’t too crowded and felt a lot calmer and safer than the Blue Lagoon, so I would definitely recommend this as an alternative!
Posted: February 4, 2024Experienced: January, 2024Iceland is a womderful place! It is safe and has tons of things to do. However, it is not cheap and people who are not used to driving in the snow or highway, should not to rent a car here, as I saw a ton of tourists left in the middle of nowhere. It is not particularly cheap, but I stayed at Hi hostel and booked tours with them for a reasonable price.

I’m starting the journey. I found it difficult to be vegan or vegetarian here but people seem friendly and calm. The island is full of animal farms and fish factories. It’s pretty cold now. But this is the time of the northern lights. I hope to hunt a few.
Posted: January 23, 2024Experienced: January, 2024I was in Iceland alone and I can definitely say it was worth it, even though it's fairly expensive. I rented a car and drove to all the attractions, except for the glacier tour. People were friendly and I really felt safe. I highly recommend it if it's on your list of places to visit.
Posted: December 27, 2023Spent more on excursions and packed food from home since food is so expensive there. The university opens the dorms in the summer as a hostel so you can have a private room with shared bathroom for a cheap price. Very safe and fun trip, went with one other female
Posted: December 27, 2023Experienced: December, 2023Iceland is one of the safest countries for solo female travelers and I can confirm that. I felt really safe there. That's where I took my first solo trip. I also had quite a strong anxiety and the first night was tough, but after that, everything got much better.
Posted: December 25, 2023Easy to book a local tour. Went winter in 12 day tour. Book a room with kitchenette n bought nice meat soup and butter garlic salmon from supermarket to cook. Very delicious and better than the restaurants honestly.

I am sooo full of infos so i wanted to share as soon as possible. So best season to travel to iceland if you wanna see lupinsis june to july. If you wanna see northern lights ofc between oct-february.. People here are not warmhearted or sympathic so dont ever get into expectations that anyone would help yiu in a proper way. I made the biggest mistake to rent an airbnb the second mistake was that this airbnb is 1 h away from city Reykjavik soo i habe to take the bus to come to the central and also have to take it when i come back from tours. Most tour busses pick you and drop you in front of hotels or in the BSI Parking place. Choose wiseley!!! Pay a bit more and stay in a hotel or hostel near city or central reykjavik. After 19 most of the busses dont drive anymore so you habe to call a specific number so that a small in their names come and ride you to your destination. BUT you can call this number ONLY when you have a islandic number. I used an E-Sim and there was no islandic number. ALSO there is no credit cars valid in busses you have to have a bloody application which you have to verify with an islandic phonenumber OR you have to pay with islandic Krones. One ticket lasts 1 and a half hour you have to pay 570 krones. SO PLEASE change your money on airport so that you wont get problems afterwards.. dont change to mich at least 30 dollars should be enough when you are going to stay for a week. Islandic krones are expensive so you wont get as much money back as you have changed. You can buy groceries and clothes and also souvenirs with credit card and apple pay and so on there wont be a problem JUST on busses. If you wanna still have an airbnb then rent a car!! If you stay in an hotel than ignore this informations. Most of the people speak english here so you wont get problems to talk to locals. Its just a social problem you will have. They dont like tourists so they will answer you shortly and cold 😊. About clothes there was already snow in middle November so buch warm clothes IN YOUR HOMETOWN. Everything is sooo expensive here. Even food.. Also if you plan to visit waterfalls buy some waterproof clothes you will thank me. Also if you habe the chance buy some protection scarf for your head face so that just your nose and eyes have place to look out of your face. The wind cones from every possible direction. Now imagine there is hail rain and snow mixed in this wind. I swear the wind slaps you from every possible directions. Maybe its the revenge from locals.
Posted: November 23, 2023Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world. Harassment and violence is super rare. The tap water is safe to drink and is one of the best waters in the world. It is a very safe country for solo female travelers. These three things you should watch out for; •Be aware the nature can be dangerous specially “Reynisfjara” a popular tourist destination, do not go anywhere close to the sea where there can suddenly be giant crash waves that sweeps people out to sea and there is not much that can be done to save someone. •Pick pocketing is something that did not exist in Iceland until recently criminal groups from other countries come to target tourists at crowded tourist destinations like Gullfoss and Geysir to pickpocket, the scam is usually they will ask you to take a photo for them while another person steal’s, but this will not happen anywhere elsewhere else in Iceland. •In general no matter the country it is wise to watch your drink at a crowded bar. If you feel unsafe don’t hesitate to ask for help, Icelanders take woman’s safety at the bar or clubs very seriously.
