Japan is super safe for women. I really enjoyed the following during my trip in Japan: Tokyo: - baseball on a rooftop - visiting the hosts streets - wagyu bbq in izakaya bar - small festival with street foods -Mont Fuji

When you finish a wonderful trip, everything goes back in your mind. I love this trip, I'm solo traveler so i can enjoy and spend a lot of time with another travellers. I love everything in Tokyo, Japan. But i only two things i hate are that No trash bin in the street and No eating outside.

I loved Tokyo and Osaka, Tokyo has fantastic character cafes, animal cafes, and regular cafes! Be aware that there’s nowhere to sit down/benches on the street, so if it’s really hot in summer you’ll have to duck into a store or buy a drink at a coffee shop. Check out Akihabara and my favorite, Takeshita Street in Harajuku! They have incredible dollar stores (my favorite is called 3COINS, you can personalize things like aprons, makeup bags, and chopsticks!)

Tokyo was an amazing experience! The food was great, everything was very affordable, even the hotels! I meet some really cool people, other travelers and locals. I can’t wait to go again! I felt very safe there. No one tried to scam or harass me. People were helpful and mostly friendly. It felt safe to explore alone. The transit system was convenient and went everywhere, it made it easy to get around. Just finding the right train was the hard part. But the trains go constantly, so even if you miss your train, there’s always another one really soon after.

My husband and I spent 5 nights in Tokyo before heading to Kyoto and Osaka. We had a fantastic time staying in the Shinjuku area, which is where I recommend you stay because it’s very lively at night, and there’s easy access to public transportation. We were completely safe walking around at night! For a good ramen place, I recommend Kyushu in Harajuku. You get to pick your broth, meats, and toppings. It’s kinda small and cramped but it was the best ramen I had in my life.

I felt safe in general but there was no more people on evening hours especially in Akihabara-the place i have been stayed-.Cafes are closing 8 pm.I went shibuya, ueno, akihabara, ginza and saw all touristic places. You should definitely try onigiri and kind of sushies.Desserts were amazing .Kobe beef was delicious. For breakfast i highly recommend cafe veloche and vie de france in akihabara.veloche is so quite and calm you can take a good rest.Vie de france has wide options for breakfast and kind of deserts. There are many good restaurant in Tokyo tower. For shopping ,if you are looking for elektronics you can go bic camera or yodobashi camera .For fashion you can visit ginza there are many brands over there but for basics ı recommend huge uniqlo building in ginza (9 layer) or you can go to shibuya and there is a shopping mall called 109.Place is so close to shibuya station .You can find any clothes for ant style or aesthetic

Tokyo is a really big city. The transportation has a detailed structure, but some stations are really difficult to navigate. You can easily lose your way. Japanese food is cheap and delicious. Japan is a shopping paradise, but larger sizes may be hard to find. The Team Lab is the best activity. However, the proficiency of English there may not be good enough.
Posted: April 3, 2024Experienced: July, 2023I feel super safe, it easy travel around alone. You can sleep in capsule hotel, a privacy and cheap solution. It’s easy find good restaurants and a lot of people eat alone. Unfortunately not many people speak English. Anyway people are very kind and try to help you also if you don’t know their language.
Posted: April 1, 2024I felt completely safe in Tokyo You can find amazing foods everywhere and the people are very kind all the time There are lots of bars and pubs that you can drink something and have fun I used subway all the time and it was fantastic
Posted: March 7, 2024I loved Tokyo! I felt so safe there, even walking around alone at 3am. All the food is so delicious and affordable! Public transit is on time and clean, but try to avoid rush hour if you can. Check out the beautiful parks and shrines when you want a break from the city :)
Posted: March 6, 2024Super safe city. I never had any problem walking alone at night for some km (even when I was drunk). Difficult to find a city more safe for female than Tokyo. Considering the harassment in the street, there is none. Some men can ask you to go out with them (pretty rare and only in busy area) but if you say no, they immediately leave you alone. It’s my experience after living there for 6 months, the risk 0 doesn’t exist, but it’s super safe and nothing never happened to me.

Tokyo is probably the safest city I know. I've been living here for 20 years and never had anything bad happen to me. People are polite, respectful and have good boundaries. The streets are safe and clean. You can lose or leave your belongings and surely enough you'll find them again.

I love travelling and discovering other places and cultures. I am fan of nature and I live hiking in mountains and snorkeling in the sea. I am also interested in discovering the gastronomies of the world, but the Mediterranean cuisine is my favorite.

Travel & Shopping with IC Cards If you didn't get a JR Pass, you'll want an IC card. If you're here for only 28 days, the Welcome IC card is available at airports. There's no deposit, but any money left on the card after the 28 days will disappear. Otherwise, I recommend getting a regular IC card. In Tokyo it's either Suica or Pasmo, but there are other brands that are nationally accepted like Toica, Icoca, etc.. Not only does it make your fare cheaper on trains and buses, but you can make purchases at shops, restaurants, convenience stores, vending machines, etc. For day-to-day life in Japan, cash is still pretty much king for daily purchases. If you don't want to deal with all the coins, using an IC card is much more convenient. At the end of your stay, you can go to the station's green ticket window and get your deposit as well as the remaining money on your card back before you leave.
